VidRivo ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website vidrivo.com and the VidRivo desktop application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Information We Collect

Website visitors: We use the Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) to collect anonymous usage data, including page views and interactions with call-to-action buttons. This data is associated with cookies set by Meta Platforms, Inc.

Purchase information: When you purchase a Pro license, payment is processed by our payment provider. We receive your name, email address, and transaction details. We do not store credit card numbers.

Application usage: The VidRivo desktop application operates entirely offline. It does not automatically transmit any download URLs, file names, or personal information to our servers.

Bug reports (voluntary): If you choose to submit a bug report via the in-app "Report a Bug" feature, the app will pre-fill an email in your email client containing the following diagnostic information: your operating system version, app version, license tier (Free or Pro), the quality setting you had selected, and optionally a video URL if you choose to provide one. No data is sent automatically — you review the full email content before deciding whether to send it. You may remove any information from the email before sending. This information is used solely to diagnose and fix software issues.

License activation: When activating a Pro license, the app sends your license key and a hardware identifier (derived from your device's characteristics) to our servers to verify the license. No other personal information is transmitted during this process.

2. Cookies & Tracking

We do not sell your data to advertisers or share it with advertising networks for the purpose of serving third-party ads to you. We use the following cookies and browser storage:

vr_cookie_consent — a first-party value stored in your browser's localStorage to remember your cookie preference ("accept" or "decline"). It contains no personal data and is cleared when you clear your browser storage.
Meta Pixel (conversion & analytics) — we use Facebook's Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns (e.g. to understand whether someone who saw one of our ads later visited the site or completed a purchase). This data helps us allocate our marketing budget and improve campaign performance. You can opt out via Facebook's cookie settings or by declining cookies in the banner on your first visit.
Stripe cookies — when you proceed to checkout, Stripe (our payment processor) sets cookies to enable fraud detection and a secure payment session. These are essential for payment processing and cannot be disabled during checkout. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.
Google Fonts — this site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may set cookies or log your IP address. See Google's Privacy Policy.

You may decline non-essential cookies using the banner shown on your first visit. Declining will prevent the Meta Pixel from firing. Essential cookies (Stripe, consent preference) remain active regardless of your choice.

3. How We Use Your Information

To deliver your purchased license file by email.
To verify and activate Pro licenses on a single authorised device.
To respond to support requests sent to support@vidrivo.com.
To diagnose and fix software bugs when you voluntarily submit a bug report.
To measure the effectiveness of our own paid marketing campaigns (via Meta Pixel, only with consent). We do not use this data to serve ads to you.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Information may be shared with:

Payment processors — to complete transactions.
Meta Platforms, Inc. — aggregated, anonymised conversion data used to measure our own marketing campaign performance (only with your consent). We do not share individual user profiles or enable Meta to serve ads based on your VidRivo visit.
Law enforcement — if required by law.

5. Data Retention

License purchase records are retained for 7 years for accounting purposes. Support emails are deleted after 2 years. Meta Pixel data is governed by Meta's own retention policies.

6. Your Rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction or deletion of your data.
Withdraw consent for cookie-based tracking at any time (use the banner or clear cookies).
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. Children's Privacy

VidRivo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
